The apartment building in which I live overlooks a park, an area which once had many windmills. These were used to grind the grain to supply the Royal Palace nearby and the population of Lisbon, in general. They were in this area of the city because it's a hill with plenty of wind.
Two of those windmills are still left there. They were built hundreds of years ago for some Irish Dominican nuns who had a convent not far away. Nowadays, the park around is really beautiful, with its green lanes covering the hill and the sight of these typically Iberian windmills.
