ANOTHER MEANING FOR PASSION

Last Saturday, I took the train and went to Cascais, a beach resort, with the purpose of visiting the “Passion” project’s sculpture-paintings exhibition, in the premises of a 19th century mansion, former summer residence of an aristocratic family, 2.5 miles away from the town centre. This mansion, surrounded by a large garden and built upon cliffs, has been acquired by the local municipality and, since then, it has become a meeting point for friends and families, offering a selection of attractions, indoors and outdoors.
In the ‘Passion’ project, by artist Kark Heinz Stock, 18 national and international artists used the elephant sculptures to share their different interpretations. Each piece (on sale for some €14,000, equivalent to US$17,000) is a unique and individual work, but together they show very special dynamic with a message of happiness.
How could I miss the opportunity to observe this contagious message of hope and joy!
From there I walked back to Cascais and took the train to Lisbon. On the way to the station, I could not help but stop for a while and take some shots.
A gorgeous day in every sense...

  4. Those two are by an English sculptor, resident in Portugal. The swan is titled 'A tribute to Dali', while the snail is named 'Turning a blind eye'.
