I sat on the beach and a beautiful wave
Came tumbling right up to me.
It threw a jellyfish on the sand at my feet,
I wondered it wished a little company.
Not using its twist tentacles for hunting,
It soaked up the sun and showed its charm.
As it played on the sand with its arms,
I started fearing they would hug me,
Not sure was I that they might know
I would never be a delicacy!

Wow...that is whimsical in a way...I like the picture.....
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a jellyfish quite the beautiful...as you say, you don't want to get to close :)
ReplyDeleteNot seen one like that!! Cool! Wonderful write xxx
ReplyDeleteOde to a starfish - shame it couldn't read what you write. I found it lovely.

Interesting how a simple change of environment can alter your perception. On the sand this fellow is out of his element and quite harmless even for close inspection. In the water it is quite the opposite, particularly if you encounter the Portuguese Man of War. Beautiful and exotic creatures but similar to the shark in that they are more safely observed in an aquarium.
ReplyDeleteNice photo and great poem!
