The reason why I'm called Isabel has to do with the name of the Queen of the UK. At the Fascism time, in Portugal, foreign names were not allowed to be given to Portuguese citizens, so my parents decided for Isabel which is the Portuguese name for Elizabeth. I was born on the very same day of the Queen's birthday. I am from Oporto and the English community has always been very important in the social circles in that city, to the point of influencing many aspects of the local lifestyle. Furthermore, one of my grandmothers attended a British school, in London, and all my family has always been very pro-British.
