What you see pictured below and fresh is called Lapas (most probably, in English, would be something like limpets). I took the photo at the market in Funchal (Madeira Island). Normally, they are cooked in garlic and butter in a pan, a squeeze of lemon and served that way at the table. I didn't have them so I can't tell you whether or not they tasted good...
